At 46, I went back to college to learn about mythical creatures.
I never thought my hot professor would turn me into one.
After giving my life to raising my daughters,
It was time for me to live out my dream
And go back to school to get my degree.
Meeting a cute guy my age in the coffee shop,
I thought my first day was off to a great start.
Until I got to class and realized Sean was my professor.
My daughter says he’s the campus crush,
But just like the creatures in his folklore lectures,
His private life is shrouded in mystery—
Which only made me want to find out more.
I signed up for an extra credit field trip,
Looking for Bigfoot in the woods.
But when my car broke down and he drove me home,
The professor gave me an education I’ll never forget.
I’m his student, so we’re forbidden to be together,
But that’s just the beginning of my troubles.
During another outing, I’m shot by a hunter,
And as I lay dying in the forest,
Sean offers me a second chance at life.
He changes into a wolf right before my eyes,
And when he bites me, I return from the brink of death—
As a wolf, just like him.

Sean is a professor of folklore. It's the first day of the semester and he is hopeful although from previous years he knows it may be down heartening. To his surprise the woman he helped out at the coffee shop is in his class. To his utter surprise his wolf recognized her as his mate. He has been looking for her for years and now here she is but she's human. He is a wolf. Plus he's a professor going for tenure.
Thus begins the longest few months of his life for both him and his wolf. His wolf wants it's mate now. Sean is more conservative.
Slowly he and she come close until the day something happens that opens her eyes to the paranormal and changes her life unequivocally. Will she accept him and will her daughters? Can she accept her life has changed??
Elle Sonali is a fantastic narrator who brings a calm and quiet demeanor to Angela as well as to Sean as they both manouever through a relationship and the results of it.

OK, I really like this story. It's whimsical, good characters, little steam, and happily-ever-mated. The feelings of Sean and Angela is written well that you feel their struggle and pain.
The audiobook is done very well. Elle Sonali narrates and does a wonderful job with it. I couldn't stop listening until I finished the book. Very enjoyable.

Angela returned Sean’s sweater at his office and, as they touched, they felt a spark between them. He asked if she would come on the Bigfoot search that weekend for extra credit. On another search without the entire class to scare the creature off, Angela ended up getting shot in the stomach. Renata was also in the woods, said she was looking for her phone and heard the shot. With no cell signal, they could not get an ambulance in time. So Renata, a wolf shifter, looked at Sean and told him there was only one way they could save her life. He was Angela’s mate, so he offered to bite her and hope she could shift if it was not too late. A shadow fell on them and a sasquatch stood looking down at Angela. The creature touched her shoulder next to the bite and she shifted! But his student Callum was also in the woods and had just used his phone to video what had happened! Would their secret be made public now? And would she accept her mate after he explained all of this to her?

What I liked- I like that this series is based on the idea that people over forty can find passionate love. I liked the characters and I found the ideas about folklore and cryptids very interesting. The Sasquatch really elevated the story to something special. The first sexytime scene was very hot.
Narrator Review- I give the narrator a 4/5 because I thought her pacing was inconsistent- sometimes appropriate but often very slow.

But I digress. He's a shifter; she is not. Instantly, he knows she is his mate. This, of course, puts him in conflict because he is ethically bound not to have any sort of personal relationship with a student. I enjoyed watching them dance around their attraction to each other, as she also had reservations about a relationship, not only because he’s her instructor but also whether she wants a man in her life after not having one in it for so long.
But her life was about to get quite a lot more complicated. In an outing to look for Sasquatch, she is shot and is soon on the very brink of death. He can't imagine losing her, and so he takes the only means available to him to save her life. I won't spell it out exactly, but the title will give you a clue! I didn't like how things devolved after this between them. I could understand the heroine's frustration on some level, but the out-and-out anger for such a sustained amount of time just wasn't fun as a reader. I like my paranormal romances to be more about the falling for each other, the fun, and the steam … not prolonged angst.
Certainly, Sasquatch is a fun element of this book! Here, he is very real and actually is very protective of the heroine; she believes she has seen this creature several times throughout her life since she was a young child. At the end of the book, we learn even more about this link between them. The scenes with him and her were so touching, especially when she was injured. I could go on and on about this book, and except for the few minor points mentioned, I enjoyed it thoroughly, especially how the author created a new and interesting plot with some excellent surprises. Recommended.

Audio: Narrator Elle Sonali does a great job with Angela and female voices, and a very good job with Sean and other male voices. I find that Sonali is one of the better narrators that I've listened to that comes pretty close to overriding my personal preference for duet style narration where a female narrator is used to voice female voices, and a male narrator for male voices. The audio quality is good and there were no issues.
