About this listen

On Christmas Eve, while his wife and children sleep, a man awakens to noises outside his house. Looking out the window, he spies landing on his roof St. Nicholas in a sleigh pulled by eight reindeer. The saint enters the house through the chimney. The man watches Nicholas filling the children's stockings hanging by the fire. They share a conspiratorial moment before the saint bounds up the chimney again. As he flies away, Nicholas wishes everyone a happy Christmas.Public Domain (P)2009 Alpha DVD LLC Classics Winter Celebration Christmas

Great version

Every home needs a copy of this poem, and it's fantastic to have such a well-performed audio version handy!

Traditions

This is a wonderful tradition to start. It reminds me of this crusty old man who would climb on the roof every Christmas so his boys would think Santa was real.

OK...

The way this was read it almost sounded sinister in the beginning, but maybe it was just me. Suggest you have a sample listen first, before you play it for very young ones.

Classic ruined by Narrater . . .

I don't doubt the narrator would be great reading some stories but not this one . . . This is the worst redition of this classic I have ever heard . . .

He ruins this classic Christmas . . . I would suggest that you listen before you play it for others . . . especially young ones . . .

This story should be read in a happy lighthearted manner not they way it is . . .

The rating is solely for the narration . . .
