About this listen

Mel likes fast on a motorcycle. She’s got the skills to really enjoy a mountain road, thrilling through curves and accelerating down straights. But as she burns up the miles on a solo ride through Colorado’s Sangre mountain range, she’s knows she’s running, again—running from the life she just left in Austin. Her internal struggles distract from focusing on the ride, and this amateur mistake sends her off the road in a spectacular wipeout.Brian, on his own solo motorcycle trip through the Rockies, is taking time away from his staid life in Napa, seeking adventure on the advice of friends and family. Coming across evidence of the wreck, he rescues Mel’s dusty ass and gives her a ride to the next town. As Brian helps Mel deal with the accident, Mel is perplexed by how women respond to him—she certainly doesn’t feel any attraction for the guy. But when rain and a slippery sidewalk change things up, the two riders become dependent on each other, at least for a few days. Brian’s injury and Mel’s totaled bike mean they need to ride together. It’s an odd, two-up arrangement between strangers, each with their own problems. Mel’s carrying relationship baggage that sabotages real connection. She’s seeking a new start and Brian is the means to get her there. All she has to do is stick with him until they get to California. Brian needs some entropy in his life, but his steady composure has held him back from meaningful commitment and he fears another emotional letdown. As the two motorcyclists travel together, the close quarters cultivate unexpected yearning. It’s the motorcycle ride that pulls down barriers between them. It’s a spark at first, but the notion grows between them. Can two motorcyclists heading in different directions trust one another enough to let down their guards, pursue their desires, and continue riding two up? Action & Adventure Contemporary
