Arthur Schopenhauer beschreibt in den ersten Abschnitten die drei Arten von Autoren und deren Beweggründe. Später geht er auf Stoff und Stil der Bücher aus. Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860) war ein deutscher Philosoph, Autor und Hochschullehrer. Sein Hauptwerk war die Schrift "Die Welt als Wille und Vorstellung".
