About this listen
Oliver is a lonely boy trying to take care of his ailing grandfather after the death of his grandmother, Effie. She was the glue that held their little family together, but now they aren't doing well financially, that's why he takes a job at a nearby farm in Starlight, Indiana.
Jacobi is an Amish farm boy as pure and innocent as the summer day is long. When he and Oliver meet, they become fast friends, but there's something stronger than friendship brewing between them.
When Jacobi's grandfather finds out about the boy's forbidden love, he threatens to disown Jacobi; unless he agrees to change his ways and become straight. Meanwhile, Oliver has problems of his own and when his grandfather passes away suddenly, he's left to fend for himself.
Can two lost boys find the love that brought them together and survive the storms of life, or will the moments they shared be lost forever under the Starlight sky? Join best-selling author, Daniel Elijah Sanderfer for this heart-wrenching coming of age story about young love, pain, and life.

They say these are the best years of my life. I’m not sure I agree. Sitting on the threshold of not quite a man, not quite a boy isn’t a very comfortable place to be. My name is Jonah, and in 1999 I was 16. That summer was the summer that changed everything. My parents sent me to camp to find God.... I found him in the eyes and actions of a sweet country boy named Neil.

A sweet heartfelt, emotional love story!
This was a sweet heartfelt YA romance.
The story had an almost innocent vibe to it which drew me in.
The characters were real, relatable and well fleshed out and I loved the setting of the story.
This book was sweet, emotional and heartbreaking.

Sweet, heartbreaking story
A sweet, heartwrenching story of love. Oliver knew from the first moment he laid eyes on Jacobi that he was the one. After weeks of working together and getting to know each other, they go swimming and their relationship takes off. But Jacobi's grandfather witnesses their romp and disowns him from the family. That was so heartbreaking to hear, but thankfully Oliver and his grandfather welcome Jacobi into their home. We learn some interesting things about both the grandfathers and after another couple events, Oliver and Jacobi get their happily ever after. I loved this short, sweet story! Dave Henson did an amazing job bringing life to Oliver and Jacobi.
