Early recognition & carer help
I recently read a book about sleep that discussed how the lack of it over many years can cause a build up of “gunk” on the brain and that proper sleep (without the half life of caffeine or alcohol) actually cleans the brain. If this gunk gets too overwhelming then things such as alzheimers and dementia can occur. So this lead me down a rabbit whole of truly understanding these kinds of symptoms for my future and for my family. I like how the author, Dean Ramsey, provides listeners with up-to-date science and studies to do with changes in traits and recognizing them in dementia sufferers. This is so hugely important because recognition is key for early action. There are also countless takeaways on how the carer can take care of themselves, which is massively important for obvious reasons.
