About this listen

Two of John Curley's investigators had just quit when he settled down on his desk to catch up. Then he saw the blinking light on his answering machine. Another case, this time across state lines. A twenty-bedroom mansion that's been under renovation for over four years. Four years was a long time in his mind - the mind of a construction foreman. There were "noises" in the house, according to the site manager, the third one hired in less than a year after the last two entire construction teams quit.

How unusual this house was. Indeed it turned out to be a house of grandeur, of opulence in an era of opulence. He felt a heaviness in his gut, an oncoming headache as he trod into the foyer, but he chose to disregard it. For John it was another investigation, another mansion to renovate.

But the mansion itself had other ideas.

Riveting! On the edge of my seat!

What I found interesting was how Anna Maria approached telling the story. So simultaneously as events occurred, the following chapter would go back in time explaining some of the happenings and events, but in his story like manner, as if she were there recapping the moments. This was the first book I have ever been so captivated by and as I am not want to read a book, she has put the hook in me. I will continue to the next one by Anna Maria Manalo!
Beyond impressed!
