About this listen

Winner of the 2019 Illumination Book Awards gold medal for general Christian fiction.

Eight months after her harrowing experiences in Miami, Chloe McConnaughey leaves the comfort of Atlanta and a burgeoning romantic relationship to reunite with the father who abandoned her 25 years ago.

But when she reaches his quaint southern town, she quickly learns that he's still keeping secrets. Unable to face the mounting tide of lies, she resolves to head back home. Before she can follow through, a murder investigation entangles her father, and tragedy strikes, forcing Chloe to partner with her father's law associate, who may have more than murder on his mind to uncover the truth.

As Chloe struggles with trying to forgive and as a killer moves closer, they scramble to find answers before the mystery destroys the only family she has left and forces a wedge between Chloe and the man who loves her that is impossible to overcome.

Unintended Witness is the sequel to the award-winning first installment in the Unintended Series.

Great Book

As expected, this story brought clean, semantically respectful, and uplifting currents to a mystery involving murder, love, family dynamics, and so much more. The audiobook narrator did an excellent job yet again. Highly recommended reading or listening!

Another Hit for D. L. Wood!

I listened to book one of this series and loved it. I listen to 2 to 3 a week. Now book 2, I didn’t want it to end. This was well rounded in the characters and the storyline. I usually guess the bad guys/girls. This time I didn’t. I love that there wasn’t bad language, no sex, but still mystery, suspense and romance, and even if you don’t want to hear about Faith you will enjoy this book. I love That D.L.Wood picked Chelsea Carpenter as the Narrator she was perfect.

I thought it took awhile for the story to get going but then it became riveting. It was hard to keep track of the players but got easier. I enjoyed the book.

The narrator reads too slow. Otherwise, it’s a good book. Good story line. Kept me guessing.

Really good story. Which the narrator was better

Really good 2nd edition of the "Unintended" series. This story was just as good as the first with unexpected twist. I am so glad to have found this author. The ending gave me good reason to look forward to the next edition.

Love this series

Positives... nice connection to book 1, suspenseful, and interesting plot lines. Extremely descriptive. Easy to visualize.

Negative...the 8 yr old in the story seems more like a 5 yr old in how he was described and his actions. Because of this, the narrator also seemed like she read it as a 5 yr old. Things that he did, and his manner of speech, was definitely a bit nerve wracking as it was like a pesky 5 yr old instead of a slightly older 8 yr old (as she initially wrote the age to be.)

Loved the book though I agree it took a while to get going but in a way it's because of all the characters to set up. I could do with a bit less description of the type and brand of towel used to dry a dish and the word "sagely" was used too often. Adjectives are nice, but in a book of over 70 chapters it got to he too much information.

Overall, still recommend.

Interesting Suspense with multiple characters

I loved this book from beginning to end.I cleaned my house ignored my husband and I did not want anyone to bother me (.Why because I was cleaning…..?)ABSOLUTELY NOT…This book had it all.For me I loved the narrator who used different and distinct voices so I knew who was talking, not to mention the telling of the story!!!I I loved the book.It had it all.Love, heartache, mystery, suspense and forgiveness.I love hearing Christian Authors who put their faith in their work. But for those who don’t like to much of that then this is the book for you,It has it all.For me I love stories of faith intertwined in suspense mystery love.
It has it all!!!
Enjoy!!
