About this listen

After thwarting a deadly coup and saving the alliance between their worlds, Cara and Aelyx have finally earned a break. Their tiny island colony is everything they dreamed it would be - days spent gathering shells on the beach and nights in each other's arms.

But the vacation is short-lived. The treaty between Earth and L'eihr has awakened an ancient force that threatens to destroy them all. The Aribol, mysterious guardians charged with maintaining interstellar peace, deem the alliance a threat to the galaxy. They order a separation of the races, decreeing that humans and L'eihrs must return to their own planets within the month or face extinction. In fact, they already have agents in place on Earth, ready to begin.

With the clock ticking, Aelyx and Cara assemble a team of colonists and race back to Earth, where they unite with old friends to solve the mystery of who the Aribol are, what they want, and the real reason the alliance has provoked them. As tensions build to a full-scale war, Aelyx and Cara must fight harder than ever - not just for their future, but for the survival of both their worlds.

The story was light and fun--everything I could want in a YA listen. I don't want to give away any of the finale's plot, but I do want to point out that the reader was...well...not great. Actually she was okay until she had to do a voice or accent. Her pace, enunciation, and pronunciation were great, but all of her male characters sounded like a four year old trying to mimic her dad, and most of the aliens and all of the foreigners had bad French-ish accents. Despite this, I truly enjoyed this series and recommend it for those who enjoy fun sci-fi "clean" romance.

Enjoyable, despite the narration

took the author of this book long enough to write a third book I hope there's another one

I was hoping for a better ending book. For me the story kind of slacks off at points and seems the characters give up. This kind of distract from the overall story.

Also at times all the smart people in the story seem to have taken a stupid pill and ignore simple obvious options or actions. They mostly get there but take lots of pages to get there. The Marine was trained to shoot things and blow things up as second nature, but does he suggest any of that. NO.

Don't get me wrong I like to the story and the characters but just wanted characters to act like they did in the other two books and get all soft and gooey. Yah I know was only a few chapters they went gooey. Still why take them there? A page or two of crying and whoa is me, then splash water on their faces and the middle finger salute to the world and back at saving it.

not as strong ending as hoped
