About this listen
Murder or self-defense against racially motivated violence? Discover the verdict in this hot best-selling legal thriller series.
William Thomas grew up with a distrust of contact with the police. However, he worked hard and made a name for himself as a successful lawyer. After leaving a ball game with friends, Thomas is assaulted by police, and one of the officers is killed. Accused of murder, William calls his colleague, lawyer Brent Marks, to defend him. Can Brent convince the jury that the police have crossed the line between keeping order and police brutality? Can he formulate a defense for a client who believes himself that he could be guilty? This modern novel confronts a contemporary reality of tolerance, prejudice, and violence in American society.
©2015 Kenneth Eade (P)2016 Kenneth EadeIf you could sum up Unreasonable Force in three words, what would they be?
Racism, bigotry and ignorance.Have you listened to any of Shawn M. Saker’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Never heard of Shawn Saker before but thought he did a wonderful job.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extreme reaction, it's just sad to that racial profiling is still going on today. In a society that professes so much tolerance we really have very little.Any additional comments?
My only complaint about this author is that his books are too short! He writes a very good well thought out coherent plot that is very easy to follow. His plot is concise and his messages are loud and clear. If in doubt, the author does a commentary following the conclusion of each book citing facts used to back up fiction. As I said the stories are great and they move very quickly. Entertaining and thought provoking. For me what's lacking is character development. It the little intricacies that flesh out and transform the writing into people I can "see".
Anyway, I definately recommend and would like to see more from this author.
