About this listen
This is a character study of moms in the Bible I’ve come to know and love.
We do not know everything there is to know about their stories, their journeys to motherhood, their parenting styles or their secrets to endurance. But what we do know is that each of these women were chosen and equipped by God to be the springboard for their child’s destiny.
- Have you ever wondered how Eve would have handled backtalk?
- Did Bathsheba train Solomon to do his chores?
- How did Rebekah manage sibling rivalry?
- How did Rachel raise her sons to have such strong self-esteem?
- Did Samson’s mom have to redirect his aggression into something productive?
I have so many questions for these women.
Unfortunately, I cannot interview them personally to pick their brains and adopt their best practices. What I can do is gain contextual insight by studying what the Bible says about their environment, their struggles and their response to both.
Only a handful of women were selected to be documented in the pages of the Bible. Each of these women matter.
We serve the same God as them. He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Whatever wisdom, strength and guidance He bestowed upon these unsung heroes; He can do the same for us.
You are treasured. You are seen. You are appreciated. You are unique. You are a mom. Let’s get started.
