About this listen

Welcome to Hell’s Gate, where surviving an apocalyptic event is a regular Tuesday, but getting a second date is impossible.

Stay out of the city park past dusk, adhere to the curfew on Tuesdays, and whatever you do, keep the batteries in your UV flashlights charged.

Grace Walker is the city’s top PR specialist. Her job is to make Hell’s Gate look desirable to tourists and potential residents. An impossible task when every day could be the city’s last.

Unfortunately, even the best marketing strategies aren’t strong enough to fight against the rumours of vampires, werewolves, demons, and other monsters running around the city. Rumours that just happen to be true.

To make matters worse, the firm hires a new boss, who is inconveniently handsome, (and single), who has not only taken it upon himself to work on Grace’s campaign but has also gone behind her back and pitched a new marketing plan to the city.

She hates him, and the feelings seem mutual. Their rocky start leads to constant arguments, power struggles, and an inappropriate assistant who needs to be constantly kept in check.

None of this compares to the horrors of dating in your thirties.

Grace is finally ready to find love and is prepared to navigate the trenches of online dating. The only question is what will implode first? Work, the world, or her love life?

I love the premise of this quirky book. Hells Gate a town full of danger of the paranormal trying to masquerade as normal.

The romance itself is Hallmarkesque while the rest of the story is a little less tame. It’s weird and quirky and different and I liked it. It’s also a little rough around the edges but it fits with the premise.

This was a pure listen for me. Dahlia Summers does a great job narrating the cast of characters, which there are a quite a few. Her pace and voices kept me in the heart of the story.

What a fun quirky book

Phenomenal! The comedy was top-notch and the performance brought it to the next level. I cannot say enough about this. It literally had me laughing out loud at some point if you just read an intense or heavy book I highly recommend this as a pallet cleanser or just because.

the general idea of the story was amazing. characters were great, audio was perfect! the only reason I give this 4 stars is there is a huge chunk of the story missing. I'd say exactly but that would be a HUGE spoiler. But I'd love to know what happened in that 6 month period. it's like "let's tack on a happy ending here".

great idea

I really enjoyed this audio. It was well narrated and liked the transition from female to male characters. Original story short but complex. Worth the listen.

I loved the quirky nature of Gettler’s books and the awkwardness of the characters. This particular setting was really unique and interesting! The FMC is really relatable and her dating struggles are comical, to say the least. I laughed to hard during the “fight scene” towards the end of chapter 29 😂
Of course, Summers does and amazing job narrating as usual. She beautifully brings out the character’s personality and emotions! Highly recommend!
