About this listen

Fleeing an abusive relationship, Ellie Carson suddenly finds herself in The Unworld; a peculiar in-between, mimicking our reality. A place with infinite entrances for those who aren’t looking. A strange realm filled with forgotten things, people, and beings that shouldn’t exist. The underside of the cross-stitching of time, never seen and all binding. The way out is always shifting, and may not exist at all.

With help from others among the lost, Ellie begins the treacherous journey out of the realm between worlds. At their heels, a lunatic known only as The Junkman, leads an army of lost souls in pursuit of Ellie and her small party of misfits, to fulfill their own sinister goals.

Surviving in the Unworld

The Unworld is a well written book that delves into such subjects as survival, resilience, domestic violence, grief, sexuality, friendship, betrayal, and time travel. The characters are well developed and believable. Ellie, the main character, may have started off being fearful and introverted, but being placed in a life or death world can change anybody. I loved listening to the book and watching Ellie come into her own and realizing she was somebody and had self-worth. The hodgepodge of characters just seem to fit into the storyline perfectly as they all worked together for the one common goal to go home again. The author definitely threw in a few twists that will have you on the edge of your seat. I will not give any spoilers, but I will say this story is a must listen / read. The narration was absolutely phenomenal it brought the story to life. I received this book for free upon my request. I am so happy that I received a copy. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review here of my own free will.

An unexpected treat

When I read the description, I thought I knew where it was going. Boy was I wrong! Mr. Curtis threw in plenty of little surprises to keep me guessing. I love a good scare, but this book goes beyond that- with a beautiful story of friendship, grief, and resiliency.

Great story!

Unworld takes you to what I would describe as an in between. Not in this world, or the next, but stuck in the middle. When the starts, Ellie is trying to flee from an abusive relationship, but she quickly finds her self in a different place. Will she be able to make her way out of the ever changing place? This story is eerie, dark, and has a good amount of horror elements. I really enjoyed the characters and the overall idea of the book.

Where things go missing

This was an interesting story. Do you ever wonder what happens to things that get misplaced and lost? Well it appears that it goes to this reality. I enjoyed the idea of lost things and people, and I like how the author added people in history who were lost. Great work.

Truly enyoyable

You find yourself leaving a situation you no longer want to be in, or running away from one and you end up in a place that is unlike anything you ever expected to be in, and meet up with people never in your life would you expect to meet or others like yourself leaving trouble behind you. Yet, you may have left your troubles behind you, however, you encounter new ones that are just as stressing as the previous ones! A fast pace story of several trying to leave this unworld and go back to the one they came from and the ending will certainly leave you pleasantly surprised. Great read/listening to novel and the narrator did a great job in the telling..
