About this listen

Like its predecessor, Vocabulary Energizers II builds vocabulary by presenting the fascinating histories behind those words we need for more effective communication and comprehension. Focusing on a core of 100 words and their back ground stories, the author links these words with hundreds of synonyms and antonyms.

Magnificent

One of the most wonderful of the fewer than a handful of the best and most fascinating vocabulary building books (audio and paperback) that I have come across. I wonder why this rather old series of books, published so long ago, is not more widely or readily available in different formats? Kindle and audio versions of the entire series should be made available for word enthusiasts all over the world. I would say the narrator, who speaks American English, has done an excellent job although personally I prefer British English. I hope all the books in this series are available soon!
