どんな世の中で暮らしていたのか？
そしてどのように名曲が生まれたのか？
そんな背景をわかりやすく解説しながらクラシック音源と共に紹介していきます。

東京藝術大学音楽学部楽理科卒業、同大学院修士課程修了。Macquarie University（シドニー）通訳翻訳修士課程修了。
「クラシック音楽ファシリテーター」を肩書としながら、クラシック音楽の普及にまつわる幅広い活動をおこなっている。音楽専門誌、書籍、楽譜、CD、コンサートプログラム、ウェブマガジン等に執筆・翻訳、小学館神保町アカデミーや朝日カルチャーセンターの講師、音楽イベントの司会やトークの仕事に従事。
NHKのTV番組「ららら♪クラシック」やNHK-FM「あなたの知らない作曲家たち」に出演。クラシック音楽専門ラジオOTTAVAレギュラーを2016年1月より4年3ヶ月にわたり務める。書籍に「ブルクミュラー25の不思議〜なぜこんなにも愛されるのか」（共著、音楽之友社）、『ようこそ！トイピアノの世界へ〜世界のトイピアノ入門ガイドブック』（カワイ出版）等がある。公益財団法人福田靖子賞基金理事。
