About this listen

Pedantic

Although his book "Sleepwalkers" is superb, this tome is pedantic and esoteric. It is more the ruminations of a graduate seminar than a concise work meant for a thoughtful public. The book rambles into abstruse sidelines, and lacks focus or clear purpose, I'm a Ph.D. used to this academic style, but trying to listen to the desultory musings in the preface almost stopped me. Although very interested in this topic, I did not make it through part 2 and returned the book to audible to redeem my credit. I'm sorry to see something with such a lack of clarity, without a distinct theme, come from such an excellent scholar and writer. It's worth a rewrite, though.
