About this listen

SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO PUSH THE BIRD OUT OF THE NEST SO IT CAN FLY.......

Dear America,

I tried yall. Really I did. He used to be a good little boy, but at thirteen things changed. There was no more honor roll or respecting your mother. It was like the devil took my baby's soul. The only thing remaining was a broken child growing into a menace. You couldn't fathom what I've gone through these last eight years. You can't imagine the worrying, pacing the floor, and wishing he would be okay. There is no love like a mother's love for her son, but that love gotta be returned. I cried for him, fought for him, and worked two jobs to turn him into the best version of himself. Still he bucked back and disrespected my authority. Jabari brought drugs into my home and talked to me like he was man of the house. In reality he was a scared child. Jabari ain't never had no job or paid no damn rent. Random goons would show up out of nowhere uninvited. This is what he called friends. That was when I was at my lowest point. I helped with homework, did parent teacher conferences, PTA meetings, prayed for him to be a better Jabari but school was no longer of interest. What was once a smart kid with ambition stopped giving a fuck. School was just a place to chase pussy and act a fool. I sat up late worrying, sacrificing my life, personal freedom and sanity but it didn't matter. Jabari still brought those no good niggas, lowlifes and thot's into my home. I am a mother with tears. Today I caught him fucking in my bed. That was it! This was no longer my son. This was a monster. That nigga had to go. It was time to be a man or die trying,

Sincerely,

Thelma Davis
