Editorial reviews

The essay "Walking" is a crucial work in Henry David Thoreau's bibliography. In one of the many occasions in which Thoreau read this essay out loud, he prefaced it by saying, "I regard this as a sort of introduction to all that I may write hereafter". Indeed in this short piece the listener will be able to hear many of Thoreau's recurring themes: man's relationship to nature, nature in conjunction with civilization, nature as a teacher of life. This short audiobook is only an hour long and it is the perfect companion for a listener who enjoys the outdoors and wants to honor the environment.
