About this listen

Imagine following Jesus along the road, listening in on his conversations and gleaning from the lessons He taught in the holy places He traveled. Join author Wayne Stiles as he walks in the steps of Jesus: through Bethlehem, Samaria, Jerusalem, Nazareth, Galilee and beyond. Experience the places where Jesus met a lonely woman in Samaria, a den of hypocrites in the Temple, a Jerusalem Pharisee still searching for truth, fishermen with a sea of false expectations and a hometown ashamed of Him. Entering the Holy land through the settings, sights and sounds of Stiles's engaging travelogue, listeners will not only discover more about these sacred places, but also learn practical lessons that will find their way into their hearts. And ultimately, prepare them for their own encounter with Christ.

What made the experience of listening to Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus the most enjoyable?

The detailed description of the places and the voice of the narrator. I appreciated all the scripture used.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus?

It's hard to pick one because it's all of God's word along with the places He visited. Each chapter had a very good lesson. I will listen to it again to get even more of what I missed the first time.

Have you listened to any of Wayne Stiles’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, so I can't make a comparison.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The next best thing to visiting Israel.

Any additional comments?

I've been to Israel and so many memories came back. I could picture it in my head.

I have wanted to travel to the Holy Land with Pastor Chuck Swindoll for many years. It hasn't been possible. Yet God faithfully answered my prayer. He allowed me to "be there" through the travels and writing of Wayne Stiles. It has been an amazing journey. One "hearing" of Wayne's book is not enough. I will enjoy many repeat "journeys" to come. It is insightful and challenging. May its impact never dull.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I was expecting a travel guide for the potential tourist. A description of sites within Israel and Jerusalem. But what I received was much more. It was a journey with commentaries that challenge the reader to strengthen their faith and actions in Christ.
This audiobook was a gem.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus?

The description of the destruction of Herod's temple by the Romans. Real faith should not rest in our physical monuments, but in our hearts.

More than a travel guide

There was so much hope here and even some of the earlier reflections were good. But one common theme that is obvious is the judgement of the Middle Eastern culture. He spends more time judging them for not letting him sneak in his camera then accurate observation. For a better and more detailed book similar to this one, go to Jesus:. A Pilgramidge by Father James Martin.

a nice voice but ignorant and a little offensive
