About this listen
A YA Dragon Rider Fantasy Adventure With A Unique Magic Spin
For Eva and her dragon, the war has only just begun…
Eva’s visit home is cut short when Prince Francis arrives with an urgent mission. Her ability to sense Venistrare’s magic – the same ability that led to her saving the prince’s life – could help them find the key to undermining Venistrare’s power. There’s just one catch: her ability to use more than one kind of magic must remain secret.
The prince doesn’t know that Eva is keeping another secret – she shares the same bloodline as the sinister Warlock. If the others find out, there’s no telling what they’ll do. Will they trust in all that she’s done… or will they turn against her?
As the Warlock’s forces gain strength, Destia reels from one defeat to another. Whole villages have been struck down by Venistrare’s dangerous abilities. And Eva faces an impossible choice. She can do as Prince Francis commands and keep her abilities a secret. Or she can embrace her forbidden power, face the Warlock head-on… and risk losing everything.

Solid Final Book in 1st Trilogy
A fitting end to the Dragon Defenders of Destia Part I series. I especially appreciate that this book is more of a regular fantasy book full of some great world building with memorable characters. It was refreshing to read a fantasy were romance isn’t the driving force in the story.

Warlock's Heir (Book 3 of Dragon Defenders of Dest
The third book/audiobook of the Dragon Defenders of Destia (Part one) this is the final story of the Part one series. As with all her stories this one is a page-turner from the first page or the moment you start to listen you will not want to stop. This is where the audiobook has the advantage, you do not have to put it down while getting needed things done, you can listen while cook dinner, straighten the house, mop floors and any other chore that is not too nosy. I only paused it to vacuum. It was 10 hours of bliss!
In the previous books, Eva left her adopted home to find out about her origins, in this story Eva returns to the family farm, but now, she is bonded to a pack dragon Perrell, has a friend in Oliver, discovered her earth magic, and found out about her origins (she shares the same bloodline as the sinister Warlock).
Ava Richardson is a fantastic storyteller. I like her as much as Anne McCaffrey. The Audiobook is narrated by Isabella Tugman who does an excellent job of reading the story. I enjoyed this audiobook immensely. If you are looking for a good story, then this is the book/audiobook for you.

Another Great Story
At the risk of sounding redundant, it becomes more and more difficult to describe how great Ava Richardson books and audiobooks are with each one I read and listen to. She is such a talented fantasy writer, and between the lovely writing and excellent narration of her audiobooks, Ms. Richardson's stories allow the reader's imagination to soar to new and wonderful places. The Warlock's Heir is no different. This audiobook is a good addition to the Dragon Defenders of Destia saga.
