About this listen

Wedding Planning for the Busy Feminist is filled with practical, funny advice from real brides, grooms, and vendors about how to plan your dream wedding on a budget. It's also an empowering survival guide that examines how modern women feel conflicted about outdated traditions and expensive social media fantasies but kinda want the perfect wedding anyway.

With tons of tips, interviews, and funny stories, the book is about everything from dress shopping and confusing caterer gratuities to Pinterest anxiety and managing your partner's role in the process. Wedding planning can be stressful, so I'm here to make it easier - with advice like "nothing sexes up a ceremony like a hot usher" and true stories about what to do when your Maid of Honor drops out because of WrestleMania.

The book dives into wedding planning, wedding budgets, dresses, wedding timelines, family drama, self-care, elopements, DIY decor, receptions, ceremonies, vows, speeches, changing your name, bachelor parties and bachelorette parties, photographers, themes, hashtags, favors, and more.

I won't push you to include or exclude any particular tradition - my mantra is "you do you!"

refreshing and a life saver!

Helpful and entertaining!

This book was so helpful and very funny! Lots of tips for people planning all kinds of weddings - I liked the stuff about how to save money and plan on a budget. Also, when you're in the thick of wedding planning, it's really great to be able to laugh at all the craziness. The narrator was also upbeat and easy to listen to and understand.

This book gave me a great perspective on weddings

Planning a wedding is chaos! It's exciting, but also overwhelming. Really enjoyed the humorous yet also informative info the book provided. The author's perspective is unique and the examples are relatable. The narration makes it a quick listen for anyone who is about to dive into wedding world! I would recommend and will purchase as an engagement present for many friends in the future.

Very fun, interesting & informational!

I really enjoyed listening to this. It’s light hearted, has a good sense of humor and intertwines real life examples. The read was wonderful as well. Less stressful take on wedding planning, fun and learned a lot of tips 😀

Hard copy of the book would be better

Some information in the book is in list format. It was hard to follow everything that was being listed with how fast the narrator spoke. I would have preferred a hard copy of this book.

Mostly wedding planning lists

It’s mostly a serious wedding planning checklists. They’re useful, but I expected a light hearted, funny book about breaking wedding traditions. Still good overall, I don’t regret buying.

Too conformist

I found Stone Fox Bride to be more what I was seeking in a planning book. This book adheres too much to tradition and isn’t helpful if you are interested in planning a wedding that is at all different than what the wedding industry/complex pushes.
