Story
It’s a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she’s actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn’t here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she’s dreamed of coming for years—she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she’s here without him, at rock bottom, and determined to have one last decadent splurge on herself.

Not my cup of tea, but well done.
I'm not a true crime fan, I did listen to the end, and it was an interesting listen.

I listened to this to see if I'd enjoy the podcast/book. After I finished this I purchased the book to listen to it. This is a podcast that audible created and it seems intriguing. The narrators were good. This is an interview/podcast format.
Disclaimer: I've been listening at 2x speed for so long anything else sounds like slow motion. My enjoyment of the narrator is based on my listening speed. I only leave 5 stars for books I've listened to multiple times.

Very good follow up - I love these people
What a great follow up to a fantastic production of West Cork. Bungey and Forde are amazing people and I would love to have dinner and wine with them. They are so natural and cordial. I was interested in their opinions after listening to West Cork and this was a satisfying interview by Jesse Baker. She is a likable person too.
If you have not yet listened to West Cork - do not listen to Aftershow. Go directly to West Cork. You won't regret the time. It is a fascinating story of a murder and the main suspect.

I was wanting something more definitive
Even though I learned a little about the authors and some of the other persons involved with the story, which I enjoyed, this irritated me more than the original podcasts. Nothing against Audible, and I am pleased they made the original and this free, to which I am. I would have been upset had I paid for it. Plus, for me I am glad it was only a half an hour program.

Good wrap-up
If you haven't listened to the West Cork story, go do so before listening to "Aftershow". It is totally worth your time. I, myself, am not a listener of documentaries or true life crime stories so when I decided to take this on as an Audible Original Listen I did not think I would make it to the end. West Cork was addictive and hard to walk away from. The local and blow-in characters in the story are fascinating and intriguing to listen too. The background story alone is captivating. The sound engineering and narrators Sam Bungey and Jennifer Forde transport you to this scenic and seemingly barren part of Ireland where people go to disappear. So for such a story to draw so much attention to the area must have been a total shock to the residents of the area.
West Cork: Aftershow is a followup to the original seres where Sam and Jennifer answer a few questions about the story and main characters. I could have used much more content and some of the answers understandably are vague because the story and court cases are still unfolding however after investing myself in the series this was quite satisfying to listen to.
I hope the reporters either followup further with this story when the final appeals are finished or can find a new story for fans of the series.
