About this listen

Dr. Justin Coulson has written a book that discusses the most important psychological research related to parenting in a practical manual that describes:

  • How parents can be more available to their children
  • How parents can understand their children better
  • How to teach their children appropriate behavior
  • And how to connect with their children at a deep and truly meaningful level.

From his own scientific research, and that of other world leaders in the parenting field, Justin believes that the principles described in this book provide a practical guide to happy and balanced children, and a peaceful, harmonious home life.

I read this book last year and while I liked it, some of the principles didn’t quite land on me then. Perhaps I needed to be where I am today for some things to click. This 2nd time around, it helped me realize that the source of most of my current parenting issues is not my child, as I’d been feeling lately, but my own approach. It reminded me that parenting plays an important role in teaching me to be a better human, and that my child is struggling just as me as she finds her own way through this life. I’m looking forward to applying the new lessons learned and coming out happier on the other side.
