Publisher's summary

"Let's start a revolution. I want us to start a revolution. We need to start a revolution. I don't mean an armed rebellion against the government or other forms of authority. I mean an intellectual and behavioral revolution that questions the status quo at every level and then makes changes based on that which we deliberately determine to be most important."

These are the words of Dr. Bill Svoboda, and he invites you to join his revolution that, literally, will change your life. By asking yourself the question, "What's most important?" you will take the first step in challenging and changing your thinking and behaviors. But how do you determine what's most important to you? Dr. Svoboda will guide you through the process to determine your values and priorities in life, by analyzing five factors: Factor 1: Gaining and maintaining physical health; Factor 2: Gaining and maintaining mental health; Factor 3: Gaining and maintaining financial security; Factor 4: Mastering and using problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; Factor 5: Acting responsibly to others, the environment, and yourself. These factors are the keys to living a well-rounded, satisfying and focused life. They will help you to:

  • Use your discretionary time to seek information that can improve your life and the lives of those around you
  • Develop the ability to use objective questions, healthy skepticism, and critical analysis of ideas and actions
  • Shift away from a win-lose mentality in decision-making and negotiating to a problem-solving process based on win-win solutions that emphasize positive human consequences
  • Develop a lifestyle that emphasizes plant-based, nutritious "real foods" along with a variety of physical exercise
  • Gain an increased awareness to conserve and nurture what nature has given us
  • Seek happiness through adding value to others, to the environment, and to yourself

Lifetime of Wisdom in 5 Easy Chapters!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. This book is a clear and helpful road map of life's priorities. And whether you are searching for guidance, self-improvement or motivation this book has valuable wisdom for everyone.

What other book might you compare What's Most Important? to and why?

Your Choices, Your Life by Bill Svoboda. His first book engages with similar topics using his signature style of clear logic and concise formatting. It makes excellent companion reading material.

Which scene was your favorite?

The Chapter on Factor 4: Problem Solving and Critical Thinking is most needed, and most useful, in today's political atmosphere. The information is helpful at all times, in nearly every situation, and so rarely addressed in modern society.

What did you learn from What's Most Important? that you would use in your daily life?

I learned to identify What's Most Important in my own life, and how to utilize the many tools and strategies for prioritizing those goals. The book helps to focus and clarify your personal effort into the things that matter most for your well being and that of society.

Any additional comments?

I am most inspired by the synergy between each of the 5 Factors, and how each relates to and supports the other. Good Physical Health creates Good Mental Health leads to Critical Thinking and Problem Solving resulting in Good Financial Health, which all culminates in better Civic and Social Health. A better world truly starts with a better you.

A Truly Intelligent Roadmap for Life

Dr. Svoboda cuts through a lot of nonsense that people believe and shows you what you're doing wrong in your life, and in your thinking. This is a man speaking from experience. He's been there, done that, and humbly wants to help you make your way through the gauntlet of garbage that life will inevitably throw at you. A really great audiobook that I know I'll be coming back to as I tackle the journey of my own life.
