I really liked this book and how Aman rescues the girl from the bad guy. So much inspiration in this book and you can feel the warmth and love in the characters. Makes your heart smile in the end!

I really didn't get into this book until a few chapters in but when John 'rescued' Alicia I was hooked! I love fake relationship stories- that is why I asked to read & review. It also took me awhile to get used to a male narrator but once I did I thought he did a really good job.

This certainly was an interesting tale of how two clearly different people with different financial backgrounds came together. The usual marrying someone with hidden motives was here. What made it special for me is the time setting. I usually read or listen to books of that kind in the contemporary genre. It was refreshing to have all of it in the Western genre.

I loved this book and it fits perfectly with the whole series! Sometimes a series can get old and redundant, but not so with Kari’s books! Each one is so unique! Without an actual cliff hanger, she even sets up the story line with the future book while putting the finishing touches on the previous book! Seamlessly! She’s so talented! I’ll never tire of her books!!!!

There was just one time several male characters we’re talking together that I had a hard time deciphering who was talking, but the narration was spot on besides that scene! Scott does a very good job with the female characters as well! It’s just so easy to get lost in the story when he’s narrating! I’m so glad these two (Kari and Scott) have continued to work together! They make a great team!!!

I’ve enjoyed listening to the books in this series. I listen to all types of stories, but every now and then it’s so nice to listen to a story such as this that takes you back in time when things were a bit different. This sweet historical romance has all the components of a good story. A little intrigue, good guys, bad guys, romance, and a happily ever after. It was a treat to listen to this story that Scott brought to life with his warm soothing voice. I've always enjoyed listening to him narrate a story, as he brings each character to life with each of their own emotions and voices. I look forward to listening to another one.

John has turned into a responsible adult who tries to do the 'right' thing whenever he can.
Alicia is a Bluestocking but she is also very shy and timid.
Along comes the bad man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
Sounds familiar, doesn't it? But the way this particular story is written is brilliant and I loved everything about it from beginning to end.
On top of a super story the audio is by J. Scott Bennet who is just oh so perfect for this kind of book.
Thank you to two really talented artistes, for your combined efforts in making this something worthwhile.

I listened to the entire recording in one sitting! I was quickly pulled into the storyline and held fast by the twists and turns through to the end. The characters were so believable that I wanted to shake each one at least once. I found myself telling them what to do: open your mouth, get out of there, don't stay there alone! I loved the perfect surprise ending. And I broke out in a laugh when I discovered Alicia's parent had traveled to Belle Fourche from Sioux Falls-my hometown. Narration by Mr. Bennett was well- modulated. He has a talent for voices of both genders and characters of varying ages. It made for an enjoyable experience.

A delightful series, in this we have John and Alicia story. They are shy haven’t dated, he comes to her rescue, when someone wants her hand in marriage for her money. He steps in as a fake suitor, but these two are a perfect match. Nice enjoyable story of how love became a reality. Given audio and enjoyed the narration which brought the story to life. For my voluntary review and my honest opinion
