When a book is good, it's very good

The story of Cyrus and Evie continues with more excitement. The mystery continues with Cyrus trying to unravel all he can about Evie's past while Evie slowly reveals more about her dark past. Cyrus continues to try to help and protect someone who is terrified of being found, and Evie clings hopefully that she won't be deserted again. They are always ready for the push-pull in their relationship. We also get to know a little more about characters introduced in the first book as well as a multitude of new ones. Hope they come back for Book Three. Don't miss this one!

Joe Jameson was fantastic with the delivery of the story

Strange but Similar

I liked it very much but I did see a lot of Liz Salander and Mikael Blomkvist so I hope there is more to come.

Sadly, a too familiar plot line

No doubt it is a miserable year and when writing this the author would not have had an inkling.
I grimly noticed a day in October 2020 that is referenced in the novel thinking, “ will most of us make it that far?” This is an indirect way of approaching the fact that this novel scarcely diverted me during any listening session .
Cyrus is not a patch on the good old Jo from past series, Parkinsons or not.
Jo the voice actor did a great job with often tedious, soulless writing.
At least there was something to fill the deliberate holding back of the release of most novels during the pandemic.. or I wouldn’t have finished this book.
