About this listen

Toby's getting married! Now in audio, the 14th novel of the Hugo-nominated, New York Times-best-selling October Daye urban fantasy series.

It's hard to be a hero. There's always something needing October "Toby" Daye's attention, and her own desires tend to fall by the wayside in favor of solving the Kingdom's problems. That includes the desire to marry her long-time suitor and current fiancé, Tybalt, San Francisco's King of Cats. She doesn't mean to keep delaying the wedding; it just sort of...happens. And that's why her closest friends have taken the choice out of her hands, ambushing her with a court wedding at the High Court in Toronto. Once the High King gets involved, there's not much even Toby can do to delay things...

...except for getting involved in stopping a plot to overthrow the High Throne itself, destabilizing the Westlands entirely, and keeping her from getting married through nothing more than the sheer volume of chaos it would cause. Can Toby save the Westlands and make it to her own wedding on time? Or is she going to have to choose one over the other?

Includes an all-new bonus novella!

This is my favorite series. I love Toby and Tybalt. I have been looking forward to the wedding forever. I felt it was a bit rushed and hated the sudden arrow ambush interruption. Wish Toby and her love could have shared more tender moments. It seemed like all the teary moments were with her friends or for Quentin. There was not enough focus on the couple. It was a little bit of let down I hope the next book focuses on the honeymoon and the relationship much more.

wedding too rushed

I'm looking forward to the next book.

Despite the cover saying just contains the novella, it does not. Other than that, the book was good. Satisfying to see them finally wed.

Does not contain novella

Mary Robinette is Toby for me as much as Marsters is Dresden. You ladies had me crying sad and happy tears. My face when Quentin did that thing had my kids rolling with delight.

A wonderful birthday present!!!

I wouldn't call it the most riveting book in the series, but it's never a full moment regardless and there were plenty of laughs and many heart strings pulled. I appreciated the affirmation of the bond between Toby and Quentin, especially. I also, Really Really loved a lot of the wording in the final scene - I'm so particular about those kinds of things and Seanan McGuire is the only person who has ever gotten it right since like.. Jane Austen. This series has been one of my primary motivations for existing in the last year and it was nice to both have someone to look forward to and also enjoy.

yay, it finally worked!

We all know how trouble and stabbing follows Toby like a creepy stalker dude. This story was not a disappointment. I loved the wedding scene. Ok… now onto the last published book until September 2023.

A Wedding Fit for Sir Daye
