About this listen

In 1967, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., isolated himself from the demands of the civil rights movement, rented a house in Jamaica with no telephone, and labored over his final manuscript. In this prophetic work, which was unavailable for more than 10 years, he lays out his thoughts, plans, and dreams for America's future, including the need for better jobs, higher wages, decent housing, and quality education. With a universal message of hope that continues to resonate, King demanded an end to global suffering, asserting that humankind - for the first time - has the resources and technology to eradicate poverty.

This book is as relevant today as it as was in the 1960's when it was written.

Sadly education, housing and social justice issues remain just about as intransigent today as they did 50 years ago.

If you're interested in education, housing, politics or criminal justice, this book is a must read.

Dr. King's foresight is amazing. We have the means to solve many of these problems. We need the will to do so.

I'm only on chapter 3. The attempt of the narrator to narrate this volume in Dr. Kings' cadence is a mistake because it doesn't work.

I always find MLK’s book intriguing, timeless and heartfelt. Where do we go from Here continues with his legacy of fighting for equality for everyone and continues to resonate with millions of people around the world.
It’s another must read for those who are asking those “tough questions” about the US’s / the worlds various inequalities (ie poverty, discrimination, caste, racism)

Another timeless, riveting title by the late MLK

Absolutely loved this book. I was amazed at the foresight Dr. King had in the 1960's and how thay are still applicable at this very moment in time in 2020. Very informative and I appreciate the fact that for the problem identified Dr. King provides a solution. Definitely thought provoking and challenges all humanity to really ask themselves the question, Where Do We Go From Here?

Wonderful Book!!!

Dr. King assesses the racial situation as of his times and complex systems that has brought such injustice and disparities in his society. He goes into detail and analysis about the social reformation ideas that his peers have argued and discussed. His message is harder in this work than some of his previous work since he is also addressing his perspective of the very little lack of progress. He pushes for direct social programs and advocacy for those programs. It is a book that is not only pertinent for his times but also ours. The book reveals a lack of progress since his times and even the lengths of which people would go to shut voices that demand change.

Listening to Dr. King’s words from his time in the context of what is happening in today’s society has given me threat pause to think, and evaluate where we’ve been, where we are, and where we need to go/grow as a society.

To hear Dr. King's views on the history of where we as black people in America has come from has caused me to reflect on changes we experience in racial unity today and social acceptance. I appreciate his dedication towards civil rights because life is by far better. I do feel we continue to lack the one true thing needed to bring about cohesive unity, and that is putting God back into the equation of our lives as a people.
