About this listen

Where the Light Won’t Go
Five Horrifying Short Stories

In the forgotten corners of dusty towns, behind windows that never open, and beneath soil too stubborn to grow anything but silence—darkness waits.

Where the Light Won’t Go is a chilling collection of five terrifying short stories that explore what festers in places too long overlooked. From rural roads that twist the mind to houses that breathe when no one’s watching, each tale drips with dread, decay, and devastating revelations.

Inside these pages, you’ll find:

  • A mysterious ice cream truck with a hunger all its own
  • A decaying farm that holds a secret long forgotten
  • A storm that watches, that hungers to be
  • A woman condemned as a witch who might be the only thing keeping hell at bay
  • And a town that learns that the biggest horrors just might be in the world that sleeps next to ours

Not all dark places are empty.

Some are full.

What a delightful little horror anthology! Every story in this book gave me chills in the best way—some had me looking over my shoulder, others made me wary of mirrors for a while. Chad Martin knows exactly how to build suspense and deliver just the right amount of scare.

My absolute favorite was The Ice Cream Man—creepy, original, and unforgettable. Martin's writing is vivid and atmospheric, and I could totally see this anthology adapted into a horror film or even a series. I’ll definitely be picking up Book 2 as soon as it’s out. Highly recommend for fans of short horror fiction!
