Publisher's summary

“See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it.” -Revelation 3:8...

Imagine a place where becoming a Christian is a punishable crime - and your own family exacts the punishment. Where those who spread the Gospel among locals are deported if discovered. Where converts to Christianity face persecution, isolation, or even death as the price for their faith. “Reema Goode” and her family are Christians working in a closed Middle Eastern country where all of these things are true. Yet they are also firsthand witnesses of a whole new trend that is taking shape in missions to Muslims. Despite all obstacles, God is opening miraculous doors in the Islamic world, where an unprecedented number of Muslims are becoming followers of Jesus.

In this powerful collection of personal stories, Reema takes us deep inside her Arab neighborhood to show how God is opening doors in just one of many Islamic communities. As she walks us through everyday life in a Muslim town, she reveals the diverse, creative, unexpected, and thrilling ways God is reaching her neighbors with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This encouraging, uplifting, and even humorous firsthand account of a Christian family living among Muslims will inspire you in your own walk of faith, teach you how to pray for Muslims and those who minister to them, and encourage you with the knowledge that God’s loving Light is penetrating the darkness.

Loved the book, didn’t love the narrator

I this is a wonderful book but I struggled with listening to it through audible because it’s written by a woman, from a woman’s point of view but it’s read by a man. I struggled with remembering that it was a woman “talking.” I had to remind myself of this several times when things that were said didn’t make sense coming from a man. Male/Female roles are so distinct in the Muslim world, it was just hard to listen to a man read it.

Interesting insight

Nice listen, but some of the stories seemed a bit unbelievable. Bit short too. Nice story overall though.

Great book...wish it was read by a lady.

The author was a woman, so I feel the story would have benefited by a woman narrator. The story is interesting and inspiring! Don't miss it!

Evidence of God’s power and goodness

If you liked Insanity of God (Nik Ripken) you’ll love this. It was powerful and compelling.

Wonderful stories!

What a beautiful account of God’s works in the Muslim world! I found it a but disorienting that the author is a female and a male narrator was speaking… talking about how she was with the other women in her community… but well-done and we’ll-told.

Riveting Story

Any additional comments?

My family and I enjoyed listening to this true account of some of God's work in the Muslim world, but it was a bit odd to listen to a man narrate the story told from a woman's point of view. The audio version would have been better if read by a woman.

Great book

This was a wonderful and very encouraging book. The stories were spiritually amazing to me. God is working mightily with the Muslim people. It is a bit disconcerting to have a male narrate this book. I had to keep reminding myself that the book was written by a female.

Easy, enjoyable, story form

Loved hearing how the Lord has worked in the Middle East through this family. So encouraging and interesting. Can be used to know even more clearly how we can pray based on culture insights and stories of how truth is being shared through relationship. I highly recommend this book. While I sometimes wish it had been read by a female since it was written by a female and is in first person, story form, the narrator did an excellent job with inflection and tone of voice.

Narrative

I wish a woman had narrated the book since it is written by a woman.
