Masterfully Written and Narrated!

I don't normally listen to books in this genre, but it came highly recommended, so I got the book, listened to it, and was so pleasantly surprised!
Sixteen year old Samantha Green and 17 year old Jake Morris battle between two worlds in a masterfully written tale of good and evil.
Just as I thought the evil monsters couldn't get any worse, they did. And, just when I thought Samantha and Jake were doomed, their friends from Kiraku helped them fight the evil Magnar and his minions.

Geoffrey Saign is a new favorite writer for me. I will be watching for more of his books in the future. One thing I found I really liked throughout all of the tension, running and fighting for their lives, was the humor Saign peppered throughout the book.

It was a thrill a minute and I look forward to the sequels, as I see there are more books to be released in this series.

Lauren Holladay's narration was perfect. I always knew who was talking and she can do male voices very well.

I wish I could give this 10 stars! Highly recommended!

Whipeye, evil shopkeeper, talking parrot and MORE!

Sam Green is a young girl hurting from the recent passing of her mother and isolation due to her father’s grief. Seeking sympathy, she confides her feelings to a pet store parrot, Charlie. Then the unthinkable happens and Sam finds herself thrust into a mystery and adventure that’s outcome rests on her shoulders. Then Jake, her cute neighbor, becomes entwined in the adventure and together they help the Great Ones face off with the evil shopkeeper guardian who wants to kill Charlie for his magical powers.

Given a magical staff, Whipeye, Sam and Jake together must discover its secret powers, so they can defeat the evil creatures released by Magnar, the shopkeeper guardian, and defeat his plans as well.

Geoffrey Saign has created an adventure that is mesmerizing! Vividly described, Saign has created a world that lures listeners of all ages in. The story flows naturally and with ease; this is one of those rare books where the listener can sit back and enjoy it. The characters have realistic qualities and personalities and depth that allows the listener to relate to them.

The audiobook allows one to hear Sam’s pain, Jakes confusion and angst and the evilness of the shopkeeper guardian. While it’s not an emotional rollercoaster, one cannot help but feel the emotions. There are multiple layers to the story. There are no dull moments, it’s action and forward moving from beginning to end. The only thing difficult about this audiobook … is shutting it off before the end.

I highly recommend this book – it is a first in a series. It is fascinating, entertaining as well as engaging!

The narrator, Lauren Holladay performed the story perfectly making each character unique. She kept the story moving smoothly adding the appropriate amount of enthusiasm and doubt and anger and fear. Holladay’s voice was calming and pleasurable to hear.

There were no issues with the production or quality of this audiobook.

The Beginning of a Fantastic, Fun, Fantasy Fest!

I have over 400 titles in my audio book collection. Many of them are series, which I really prefer... only if it's great. I don't want to waste 11 hours on mediocre stories and narration.
Geoffrey Saign will not disappoint!
I honestly have to say, that out of the hundreds of series I own, Sam Green and the WhipEye Great Ones are sitting at the very top of my favorites.

The characters are "real" -- Samantha and Jake are your every day teenagers...in the beginning....
As a connoisseur of books, both audio and written format, I feel I can spot a very special talent in a writer. Geoffrey Saign has the rare gift of entertaining with pen and paper (or keyboard and ink) that most authors can only dream of.

His imagination in stunning. His drama is gripping. His humor is perfectly placed, not schmaltzy or slapstick. When he intends to be funny, he really is. He doesn't use filler just to lengthen his books. When he writes, he's got something to say and it's always entertaining. And he chooses his resources wisely.

I could go on and on singing the praises of this book and the remaining books in the series. But I'll be brief and honest.

If you want your money's worth (or your credit), get this series. You won't be wasting one second of your time.
This is a rare series... one that you'll want to listen to more than once.
Get it. It's fabulous!

Don't Miss This One!

Two worlds collide and two teenagers are the key to saving both worlds.
Samantha Green's life is filled with sadness with the loss of her mother. Her father's grief and hers are tearing their relationship apart rather than brining them closer. A lost girl, full of grief ,finds a friend in a parrot, and that friendship changes her life.

But this parrot is no ordinary parrot, and he sets Sam and her friend Jake on a journey that two ordinary teenagers would never be able to handle.
But these two teens are no ordinary teens and the friends they make are definitely not ordinary.

As the guardian of WhipEye, Sam must decide if she will take on a responsibility that will change the world.

Never a dull moment, Geoffry Saign has written a power packed book with a punch so hard that it's difficult to stop listening to the book.

The narration was also very good. Ms. Holladay's performance was excellent.

There is a sequel to this book called Gorgon, and I'm going to listen to that next.
If you are a lover of fantasy books like I am, you've got to listen to this book.
