Kim Crosley is a rent boy with too much curiosity. He wants to know who owns the Chrysler touring car stopping at his street corner every night. Hitching a ride and sneaking into the gent's house seems the best way to find out...but he gets caught. Kit Laurence is an ex-soccer champ, a near-recluse since a sports injury ended his career. Discovering a young man going through his belongings brings an intriguing disruption to both his evening and his life, as well as a relationship he isn't certain he wants. This book is the first of three and I can't wait to listen to the other two.  The characters grab on to you and don't let go.  My heart goes out to all the main characters, each fighting their own demons, some internal, some not.

The narration was excellent.  It took me a few chapters to get comfortable with the British accent. Slowing the speed to .90  helped. 

I found this book to be captivating and interesting.  Looking forward to book Two.

I thought the story was overall well-written while tackling the sad and awful reality of sex work/exploitation, including of children. The MC while jaded still has spark, and I thought the pov of him "telling the story" to the narrator worked fairly well. The narrator does a wonderful job of bringing him to life, but unfortunately I really disliked his other voices, and some of the efforts at jazzing up the audio with effects or simultaneous talking resulted in just making it hard to understand. Still recommend giving it a listen and I'm moving right on to the next book.

This series is by a 'new to me' author Tony-Paul de Vissage. The narrator, Tobias Milo Zeus has an interesting voice that took me a bit to get used to.

The story is very original, I'm not sure I've read and/or listened to anything quite like it before. There's a bit of everything, some of which was a bit tear-inducing. The rent boy, his pimp, and the retired soccer player with a career ending injury. My heart went out to these young men who have had to make their own way in life. The people who should have protected them but didn't, put them on this horrible path. Then there are other people who take advantage of them in the most awful ways. It's a bit shocking in places and heartwarming in others.

I look forward to listening to the next book in the series to see what happens. The book did end on a bit of a cliff hanger so be warned.

This was an intriguing listen and the ending is a bit of cliffhanger. I love that this has British narration, which is fantastic.

This is my first book from this author. I struggled a bit at first with the narrator voice that got a British (I think??) accent. But after a couple chapters it was okay and now I'm liking it. His voice his soothing in some way.

Now for the story, I thought there would be some heat in it at some point. Maybe there will be in the second. To be honest I went and listened to it without checking anything about it! I think it's the slowest of slow burn I've seen in a while lol
But Kim and Kit are definitely interesting enough that I finished the book faster than I thought, and I'm on my way through the second tome now.
