About this listen

Fird, part fish part bird, is looking for a herd of fird. So he sets out to find a herd of fird. Along the way, he meets many two-feature creatures - whimsical animals like shamels - part sheep, part camels, and bertles - part bear, part turtles. But no one has heard of a herd of fird.

While Fird has no luck finding a herd of fird, he discovers something far more important. He learns that he can be whatever he wants to be, without looking anywhere outside himself.

As someone who also survived similar childhood traumas as the author, this book STILL means so much to me. When I got this as a kid, I read it until the binding was useless! I’m SO EXCITED to see Othello get the rights back to HER STORIES!!!! This will always be a classic tale in embracing our own passions and enjoy truly BEING OURSELVES—just.as.we.are!

This STORY is everything!

I have been looking for this record/book for so long, googling strange animal combinations trying to get a hit, but it just turned up things like hairy spiders eating fish (yikes!). Finally I remembered sneakers on the spider and low and behold I got to listen to my favorite record in the world (when I was five).
I strongly recommend this book for anyone!Definitely anyone under ten.

I have been searching for this for over 30 years!
