About this listen

This essay comes from the NPR series This I Believe, which features brief personal reflections from both famous and unknown Americans. The pieces that make up the series compel listeners to rethink not only what and how they have arrived at their beliefs, but also the extent to which they share them with others.©2006 This I Believe Inc. My parents took me to hi restaurant when I was a child several times. It was a favorite of mine as was he. The food was wonderful. Yes, I understood great food at an early age as my mother was French and an excellent cook. Also, we went out to eat at fine dining places because I was taught how to behave at an early age. I remember taking my sister-in-law there once when I was a teenager. He was just as great as always and so was the food! I was sorry he closed the restaurant. D.S.
