Publisher's summary

Self-help author Laura Cone explains why women go for the dangerous, bad boys with narcissism and other personality disorders. This is not a dating advice book you want anyone to know you listened to.

An expert on narcissism and a former journalist, Laura throws what is "politically correct" out the window to help women get a grip on what they want from "crazy" guys. Will a nice guy want you after you spent the best years of your life chasing crazy? Why Laura advises most women to give up sex and dating for an entire year to reboot their psyche. She also explains what real men are thinking when you pursue them or treat them like your personal therapist. How to land a good guy who will still "knock the bottom out of you" in bed.

an up and comer in a new branch of psychology

I've been a fan of this author for a while. But I feel that this is her break-out book. Until now, she was holding back a bit, making sure to add a bit of sugar to the bitter pills of truth she was delivering. Now she's really going for it--and it's riveting. The author talks about the ringer that women subject themselves in their pursuit of 'Mr. Right'--the main such pitfall being to throw away years on con-artist gadflies (otherwise known as 'narcissists'), who lure women in, knowing just which buttons to push. Which, in and of itself, isn't the end of the world, as the author explains, is not the end of the world--except that the narcissist doesn't just love you and leave you. He wasted your time, he rewires your brain, he holds onto you until you've ceased to have the ability to find someone else, condemning you to gripe about your victim-status on social media. Definitely topical and very necessary--and unique, as in no one else is doing what this author is doing. The narrator is a great fit too.

Very refreshing... not at all politically correct

Very enjoyable to listen to in the audio form. Not an easy message for women who fail at relationships to hear; insightful for anyone who is willing to drop the defenses and be happy rather than "right."
