About this listen

"Narrator Kenny Blyth transports listeners to the Shetland Islands with his delightful and easily understood Scots brogue." (AudioFile Magazine on Cold Earth)

Wild Fire is the much-anticipated final audiobook in Ann Cleeves's beloved Shetland Island series, now a major television triumph starring Douglas Henshall.

The betrayal of those closest burns most of all....

Hoping for a fresh start, an English family moves to the remote Shetland islands, eager to give their autistic son a better life.

But when a young nanny's body is found hanging in the barn beside their home, rumors of her affair with the husband spread like wildfire. As suspicion and resentment of the family blazes in the community, Detective Inspector Jimmy Perez is called in to investigate. He knows it will mean his boss, Willow Reeves, returning to run the investigation, and confronting their complex relationship.

With families fracturing and long-hidden lies emerging, Jimmy faces the most disturbing case of his career.

What?? No more Jimmy? No more Wiiowm

How can Wildfire be the last book? I wish we were given a little more certainty about their relationship.
Jimmy deserves some happiness.

Not the greatest plot in series; Martha and Charlie were a weak element.

Not that fond of Blyth as narrator--he barely tries to give the characters their own voices.
Overall a great series.

Love it!

As a spinner, knitter, and weaver, I have loved this series on more than one level. I can’t wait to go to Shetland in the next couple of years and experience the ferries and flying onto these small islands, the rolling seas, and the wind. I want to see the crofts and the sheep, and drink the beer in the pubs. I can’t wait!!

Wonderful continuation of this series

Ann Cleeves delivers once again. Love the characters, not sure this book works as a stand alone, best to start at the beginning and enjoy the ride.

First Time Reader

I was familiar with the SHETLAND mysteries because of PBS mysteries. I always enjoyed them, and hoped I'd like the books. I was not disappointed. About 80% of the story was location, psychology and character development. About 20% actually had to do with the crime. But I was fine with that. The author brought the characters to life and made them believable and sympathetic. I'm not sure I entirely buy the explanation for the who and why of the murder, but that's OK. I definitely will be looking for more books by Ann Cleeves.
