About this listen

In the wild mountains of the Montana Territory, the Coulter ranch is a place of family, second chances...and a hidden fortune.

Jonah Coulter can't stand to watch his former fiancée build a life with her one true love. That's the way it always happens for him—second child of six, second choice for love. He's relieved to escape his family's ranch to search for the aunt of a lost child he rescued. At least little Anna needs him. She deserves to be reunited with her last living relative.

Patience Whitman fled from her past and the man who killed her late husband. Now she's reinvented herself in the untamed Montana Territory. Relying on her gambling skills to survive, she's determined to earn enough to buy independence from the constant threat of men—she's never met one who isn't greedy, controlling, or violent. But when a stranger shows up and says his brothers have taken in her orphaned niece, Patience must go after Anna no matter the cost.

As Jonah and Patience navigate the treacherous landscape of their pasts and little Anna's future, they must confront their deepest fears and learn to trust each other. But when danger catches up to them, they must risk everything to claim the happily ever after they both crave.

From a USA Today bestselling author comes a mountain saga filled with high stakes adventure, found family, and love that heals wounded hearts.

The Read voice was horrible, I really don’t enjoy AI, real people real voices is the only way

The AI is terrible!

The audio is obviously NOT read by a real person. The narration is awkward and halting, with strange background noises and mispronounced words.

The story is good, but the "narration" is mechanical and disappointing.

Story was wonderful. Could not help to be distracted by a strange noise in the background throughout the book.

Enjoyed the story but the playing of it was very frustrating. Some kind of technical issue

For some reason the audio was not good. Had many speeded up, stuck or mispronounced words.

Loved the story but the narration was narrated very disappointing. It said it was narrated by the author but it definitely sounded like a robotic recording

The last book in this book might actually be read by AI. The timing is off in several places. The meter to relay emotions is also off. It’s listed as the narrator being the author. If this is the case, she is a good author, however, she should hire a narrator to read these good stories. I don’t know if it’s a or if it is the author. The way certain words were pronounced makes me think it might be AI. There is a very odd base sound that keeps coming in behind the narrator’s voice. This stood out a lot if I was listening in my car, but I could also hear it when listening with my earbuds. The second book in this voice has made me doubt whether or not I could endure a third book in this voice. Which is truly unfortunate, because the stories are good.

Is it AI?

I love this author and truly enjoyed this book and the entire series. However listening to this recording was painful. Several times the recording just cuts out or gets stuck on a letter (sssssss…….). Over and over the recording would have a vibration in the background. The entire series is not like this. The first three books had great recordings. I could just enjoy the book without thinking about the recording.

Bad Recording!

The audio is terrible as stated in other reviews. But had to suffer through to keep up with the story.

The audio

The series is good and I like this story. The narration was awful with a poor quality recording. The speed would slow then speed up, breaking up sentences and words in all the wrong ways. I almost thought that maybe AI narrated the story.

Good story, terrible narration
