About this listen

I'm starting over at 43 and found the perfect nannying job.
Too bad my hot new boss is my fated mate.

When my mate of twenty years started growing distant,
My best friend offered to give him advice.
Little did I know she'd end up pregnant with his baby.
I left Portland and my daycare job behind,
Ready to start anew in my friend's pack down in Eugene.
The Glenwood pack gave me a warm welcome
Especially Kane, once my wolf caught sight of him.
The ruggedly handsome cop stood in the doorway,
A single dad holding a tiny newborn in a baby carrier.
A woman had dropped the shifter baby off at the precinct,
Making him a father in an instant.
With a schedule like his, he needed a nanny,
And I was new in town and needed a job.
It was the perfect arrangement
Until I woke up in his arms.
But that's not the only danger on Glenwood territory.
My little dream job ends up becoming a nightmare.
I'm thrown in the middle of a war between packs,
But my only combat experience is with screaming kids.
It's time to put on my big girl pants and jump in.
This precious baby and my only chance at fated love are on the line.

Steamy shifter love scenes and an HEA inside! No cheating or cliffhanger in this standalone romance. Listeners 18+.

Good listening

Another shifter nation book. This is a good book and a good listen. We are back with the Glenwood pack. Melissa is starting her life over again after 20 years. She discovers things she never knew. Kane discovers things he wanted but never thought he would have.

Kane and Melissa

Kane Glenwood, the local sheriff, just got the surprise of his life when a previous lover arrived and dropped off his son Adrian and then just left. Kane knows nothing about being a father so he has to find a nanny and fast! Melissa is a former daycare worker, divorced and new to the pack and she's just agreed to become nanny to Adrian. Melissa is starting over in a new town, with a new pack, and she's determined to hone her instincts, to listen to them, and use them to avoid being led astray. but she can't help her developing feelings for Kane and Adrian.

Kane is a devoted father who wants the best for his son and as he watches Melissa treat the baby like he's her own he can't help falling a little in love with her too.

Well, they do say sons take after their fathers so it's not too surprising that Melissa fell for both her boss and his son. This is a well-written story about some interesting well-drawn characters. It's narrated by Elle Sonali who does a wonderful job bringing all the emotions to the fore!

Nanny

Love the narration of Elle Sonali

Kane is a policeman and a werewolf shifter. Who believes he will not meet his fated mate. But he likes female company and one is Sherry. While finishing a shift Sherry appears at the station with a baby in a carrier saying Kane is the father and Adrian the baby is safer with him. His werewolf he knows its the the baby. Sherry disappears. He is shocked but he knows is his pack Glenwood will help him anyway they can.
Melissa is a new member of the Glenwood pack, who left her husband after she found out he was cheating with her best friend . With her daughter at college, Melissa finds a new pack and a wonderful friend in Dawn. Melissa needs a job and Kane a nanny. When the two meet, its fireworks and both know they have met their fate mates.
But Sherry is found dead and another pack is out revenge. These two have to cover come angst and drama.

We have angst, action, romance and heat.

Clueless new dad

This was a fun book to read and hearing how this guy had no idea how to care for a newborn had me laughing. Kane, a police officer is at work when a woman with a newborn comes in hands him his child and leaves. Kane needs a nanny and Michelle needs a job and a place to live. These two come together to care for his child and a happy ending.

The Glenwood Pack sticks together

I enjoy listening to this series. I prefer at least dual narration, but this is still an easy listen. I love that Melissa wants to take care of herself but once she knows what Kane is to her, I want her to acknowledge it. His past should not matter that much. I love how Kane goes all in, immediately upon meeting Adrian. As usual the Glenwood Pack sticks together and comes together when needed. I enjoy these books.

Totally a great listen!

I couldn't stop listening until the book was finished. It drew me in and even had me in tears at one point. But don't worry there's spice 🌶🌶 to this book as well as a great story and plot.

Great story, okay narration

Wolf’s Midlife Nanny by Meg Ripley
Cat’s Stats
MMC/FMC- Kane and Melissa
Genre- Paranormal Romance
Sub Genre- Shifters (wolf)
Length- 5.5 hours
Heat- 🌋🌋🌋🌋 and the word “manhood” is used. I thought romance novels stopped doing that in 1986….
Series? Y
Safety? Y
Triggers- violence, language, sex, dirty diapers, murder
Tropes- Hungry Like the Wolf, Nanny/Caregiver, Fated Mates, Instalove, Adorable Moppet, Single Dad, Once Burned Twice Shy, Surprise Baby
Mewsings -
What I liked- I really like that this series is about couples over 40. The main characters are likable and a good match for each other. There is love, but also respect. And the baby is adorable. I loved it when he transformed into a wolf pup.
What I didn’t- the heroine made the hero a pulled pork sandwich and now I’m hungry.
What I thought of the narration- I’m not crazy about the narration. There were a lot of sibilants, and the narrator’s voice and the mic amplified the hissing sounds. The narrator’s performance was annoying as she sounded like she was speaking to young children.
I’d give the narration a 3/5 and the story a 5/5.

I Enjoyed It

I really enjoyed this book. I loved both Kane and Melissa. When a one night stand suddenly comes into the precinct tells Kane he's the father of their newborn son, and leaves the baby with him, he's stunned. But his wolf knows the infant is his. He doesn't want to ask for help but he's completely unprepared and in the dark about all the things a baby needs- though his pack is helping. Melissa's life changed when her husband of twenty years cheated on her with her best friend and got her pregnant. So she divorced him and is starting a new life in a new pack. I like the way the relationship between her and Kane develops. She's worked in daycare, and raised a daughter of her own, so she was in the perfect position to help Kane and be a nanny for his baby while he has long hours at work as a police officer.

Elle Sonali does another great job bringing these characters to life. I like her voices for both the females and the males and she has an almost soothing tone of voice that I always like.
