Wolverine McLean

The men who fought beside Aloysius McLean in the War Between the States knew him as a shy and quiet man, but in the heat of battle, he fought so fiercely and fearlessly that they nicknamed him Wolverine. With the war now over, McLean goes to visit a war buddy and finds he’s disappeared under suspicious circumstance after striking the mother lode. To help his friend’s family, Wolverine faces off against a wealthy, powerful man who has a special armored train with three mounted Gatling guns and his own private army.

No Like The First One I Read

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. The narrator was very good and made the story exciting. This one was not as good as the other book that I read first. I did not like this one.

Not a romance

This story is really just a western. And, based on the audio excerpt, I thought the story was going to have some mild humor or wit. It doesn't. The story is fine for what it actually is, a western. However, it's quite disappointing as part of the romance genre. If you consider any male-female relationship as a romance, then the description of this story as such is true. Otherwise, it's quite inaccurate. And the only "salty language" was the main character saying something would be "hard as hell". So, as a western, I thought it was okay. But that's not what I was looking for when I found it in the romance genre section.
