About this listen
In a struggling Amish settlement on the harsh Colorado plain, Abbie Weaver refuses to concede defeat to hail, drought, and coyotes, even as families begin to give up and return east. The biggest challenge of all is the lack of a spiritual shepherd and regular worship. When Abbie discovers the root of a spiritual divide that runs through the settlement, she faces her own decisions about what she believes. She must choose between a quiet love in her cherished church, passion with a man determined to leave the church, or imagining her life with neither.

No music
I do not like having music played at the beginning of chapters. Otherwise beautiful story line. I can't wait for the next book.

Historical and interesting
Finally a good Amish story with believable characters. The ending was a surprise but what most listeners would like because of the close relationship of the couple. Colorado is not really that suited for just a farm and the lack of rain was a problem back in those times.

Painfully long. Content should be a short story.
This story could be covered in a few short hours. So disappointed that it was unnecessarily drawn out, overly predictable, and very depressing. I love Amish stories, but this is not a very good one. Bummed.
