But something's missing…

Your clients listen but don't seem to move forward. It's like watching a car stuck in the mud — lots of effort, but no progress.

Frustrating, isn't it?

If you’re wondering what the missing link could be, you’re in the right place.

Statistics show that motivational interviewing had a positive effect in 74% of the tested cases.

For doctors, the success rate was even higher at 83%, and psychologists weren't far behind with a 79% success rate.

With numbers like these, isn't it time you added motivational interviewing to your toolkit?

This book will take you by the hand and walk you through the fundamentals of motivational interviewing, helping you turn those frustrating sessions into fulfilling transformations.

And here’s a fraction of what you will discover within:

  • The real might of words that make all the difference — get the lowdown on motivational interviewing and why it’s a game-changer (it's like having a cheat sheet for the human mind!)
  • How and why you need to be the guide, not the guru — step back and let your client take the wheel
  • How to master open-ended questions, affirmation, and other useful techniques — these are your tools to build that bond and help folks change
  • Why you need to break down those walls keeping your clients from getting fit — they will be thanking you while doing their victory laps
  • Effective ways to encourage better eating habits… help your clients say goodbye to crash diets and hello to real, lasting change
  • Matters of the mind — explore how motivational interviewing helps in the mental health field, and become the anchor someone needs in their storm
  • How to measure the success rates and keep tweaking your game (hey, even pros need feedback, right?)

And much more!

Success in coaching isn’t about having more tools; it's about having the right ones.

And as the stats suggest, motivational interviewing just might be the right tool to skyrocket your client success rates.

With the help of this book, you can discover how harnessing the power of words can be your game-changer.

Effective strategies to support in coaching journey using MI

Words That Work is a well organized book that provides techniques and strategies to support your journey in coaching clients using Motivational Interviews (MI). There were helpful definitions along with examples to help you apply MI in your coaching. It mentions SMART goals as well as how this form of therapy can be used as a stand alone practice or in conjunction with other forms of therapy such as CBT. Some take aways I grasped from MI is that I need to be focused on the client’s language, show empathy, and ask lots of open ended questions without judgement. I really liked that this book is backed by research and gave practical guidance on not only how to implement strategies, but also why you should or should not do something and what could result if you did or did not do something. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking into coaching others or wanting to improve their therapy sessions and results with clients.
