About this listen

Baffled by Buddhism? Confused by Catholicism? Mystified by Mysticism? World Religions can lift the cloud surrounding the main faiths of the world. Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism, Buddhism, and many more key faiths are explained clearly; providing detailed insight into the key practices and figures of each religion, this is perfect for those beginning their exploration into faith, or for those just needing a quick reference tool. World Religions details the beliefs from modern Scientology to the world's oldest faith - Zoroastrianism - and everything in between.

John Bowker was dean of Trinity College, Cambridge, from 1984 to 1991 and is currently a fellow of Gresham College, London, and honorary canon of Canterbury Cathedral. He is also adjunct professor of religion at North Carolina State University.

Coffee table book-not good for Audible

This book is not good for Audible unless you are truly hearing impaired. There are clearly many images being described and the reading goes through the book through all the related descriptions in line with the main chapter writings. As such, it is oddly repetitive and often times disjointed. It lacks linear progression through the respective religions making it very difficult to follow. I can see where this would be a good book to read hard copy, but it doesn't translate well to Audible.
