I picked this book to listen to with my son during our evening quiet time. I wanted him to learn about history in a way that felt real and personal. The stories were short, easy to understand, and full of bravery and kindness. I could tell he was really listening, asking questions, and even feeling proud of the young heroes in the book.

There was one story about a girl who helped her neighbors during a bombing that really stayed with us. My son said he would’ve been scared, and I told him it’s okay to be scared and brave at the same time. That led to a long, meaningful talk between us. It made me feel like this book gave us more than just facts—it gave us a shared experience.

I wasn’t sure how much my 10-year-old would connect with war stories, but this audiobook surprised both of us. She asked thoughtful questions afterward and even talked about it during dinner. It gave her a glimpse into bravery that felt relatable. I appreciated how it made tough topics accessible without dumbing anything down

This book is a great way to presents to students and young readers the value of history. The narrator presents the information in a very clear, informative and friendly tone. The quotes used throughout the book where inspirational and directly connected to the importance of reflecting about history. The author did a great job at informing of heroes that are well know and those that are not as know but made a significant contribution to history for the better. The involvement of the Navajo co-talkers, Audie Murphy, and Irina Sendler, where only some of the stories that I found impactful, so many more are included here. I enjoyed this book as an approach to teaching history.

This audiobook, World War 2 Stories for Kids, isn't one of those snooze-fest history lessons; it tells these absolutely gripping true tales about brave soldiers, clever spies, and even heroic animals, making the whole thing feel really alive and, honestly, much easier for a ten-year-old to connect with. It ditches the dry facts for actual human experiences. My niece was completely drawn in by the sheer grit and courage on display – it’s like adventure stories, but real! Katie Burnes, the narrator, does a fantastic job; her voice is clear and warm, making even the tougher parts understandable without being scary. I seriously think this could be a great listen for any kid to explore this important part of history in a way that feels more like story time and less like homework.

This book is very age appropriate in helping the next generations learn of what has occurred in the past, and ideally, to help avoid history repeating itself.

My grandfather was at Pearl Harbor when the attack occurred on December 7th. This narrator and author took me back in time to appreciate how life was then. I appreciated learning of the different characters, ego, and alignments of the day. You really brought it all to life - the audio was NOT a boring history citation. The audio provided the listener one great story of connection after another making it all come alive with modern day analogies. I enjoyed it greatly!

My 10-year-old used to tune out during history lessons—too many dates, not enough heart. This book changed that. The stories are personal, powerful, and relatable. He especially connected with a chapter about a young boy who risked everything to help others. It led to a long talk about bravery, kindness, and what it means to stand up for what's right. He even asked to re-listen to a few of the chapters. It brought tears to my eyes more than once, and it gave him a new sense of what real courage looks like.
