About this listen

There is violence that is not talked about. They remain hidden under stereotypes and fear, in the shadow of irrationality and senselessness. We know about them but hardly whisper about them. It is as if stopping to talk about their existence would bring them to life or their explicit recognition would imply understanding that they are present. Their denial is one of the ways we have to live with daily violence. One of these “violences” that is hardly mentioned, but which affects millions of people is psychological violence, also called “moral violence”, which leaves wounds that do not bleed, but whose emotional traces and damage to the personality remain for the rest of life.

Millions of people suffer from it. It makes no difference of age or gender. Every day, because of its effect, someone feels that life is not worth living and longs for it all to be over. In every day there is at least someone who no longer wants to struggle with this violence that is locked up in four walls and imprisoned in unhealthy and toxic emotional relationships.

Some suffer this violence all their lives. Others, the more fortunate, manage to escape it, although its effects linger for a long time, perhaps for the rest of their existence, as mute witnesses of an offense that is no longer there, but its after-effects remain.
