About this listen
Does life ever give second chances?
Five years ago Miranda and Jason were inseparable - runaway teens standing together against the rest of the world. But those days are long gone.
Now in her 20s, Miranda is triggered by the ghosts of her past. Trying to escape, she abandons her old life and everyone she knew.
Jason swears his relationship with her is ruined.
A sudden trauma forces Miranda to return. She must pair together with Jason to overcome the biggest challenge they've ever faced, or both of them be destroyed. But with so many scars separating them, can they learn to trust each other again?

Not a favorite
I have read the Ghost No More series by Cee Cee James i loved them but this one was a bit slow especially in the middle I almost quit it but thankfully It picks back up. The narrator was OKAY but over dramatic at times. I hope book 2 picks up the pace.

A heartwarming story that I read twice!
A heartwarming story that I enjoyed enough to read twice!
This is a superb story of three children who triumph over child abuse, neglect and homelessness. Against all odds they find a way to make a new life for themselves. The author does a wonderful job of taking us into the world of abused and homeless children without making us sad or resorting to any offensive material. For anyone who has had a difficult childhood, this book will be inspirational.
I would like to see a copy in every school library and hopefully one day made into a movie.

Beautiful!
can't wait to read the second book! I really like how the past and the present were woven in together; it brought out why Miranda was the way she is and was revealed slowly instead of all at once giving the book at good pace. Also in the flashbacks, some of Jason was revealed also.
The circumstances that brought them back together was tragic, but if she hadn't run the second time, Miranda and Jason wouldn't have found each other. As it came out later in the book, Jason is a runner also. I do wish there had been more on how they found their "uncle". I really wanted to know because I became invested in their story, past and present.
Emma Clark did a fantastic job on the narration. She infused each character with their own distinct personality, didn't go too fast or too slow.
I highly recommend this book.
