The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books began in 1996 with a simple goal: to bring together the people who create books with the people who love to read them. The festival was an immediate success and has become the largest and most prestigious book festival in the country, attracting more than 130,000 book lovers each year.

Leslie Schwartz is the author of Jumping the Green, which won the James Jones Literary Society Award. Her nonfiction has been published in the Los Angeles Times, Self and other magazines and newspapers. Her book, Angel's Crest was a Los Angeles Times best seller.

Donna Foote, a freelance journalist and former Newsweek correspondent, lives in Manhattan Beach with her husband and 14-year-old son. Her debut book is Relentless Pursuit: A Year in the Trenches with Teach for America.

David Goodman is a contributing writer for Mother Jones. He coauthored several books with his sister Amy Goodman, including their most recent Standing Up to the Madness: Ordinary Heroes in Extraordinary Times.

Sandra Tsing Loh is a writer, performer and musician. She is a commentator for NPR, an Atlantic Monthly contributor and the author of four books. Loh's most recent book is Mother on Fire: A True Motherf%#$@ Story About Parenting!.
