Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

If my time with Ryan Miller were a hit track on the radio, I imagine the lyrics would go something like this: We're so different, but they say opposites attract. Oops, I've fallen, and my heart doesn't want to come back. His dad lives right next to my mom, and after the two of them suffered an unexplained accident while taking down holiday decorations, both Ryan and I were forced to become the only 30something residents of Sunny Creek Village Independent Senior Living Community.

Cute but frustrating
Although I thought it was cute and the situation made it entertaining. I can’t help when two people are just so confused and bad at communicating.

Fun romcom until the last quarter
Really disliked the virtual voice option. Incredibly robotic and made it very difficult to enjoy the story.
Was enjoying the story until one of the main male characters just got so frustrating in his repeat, repeat, repeat choice of running from his ROM of the romcom

The cutest story but…
I can’t do the virtual voice. I would love to hear this story with actual narrators. It was a little confusing as to which character was talking.

Hard listen.. cute but cringy story tho
PLEASE DON’T REPLACE NARRATORS WITH AI. This was the WORST listen I’ve had to do. I thought a male in this story was a female the entire time until I heard “he”. You don’t know when the character speaking switched over. You can’t tell which are thoughts, and which are things being said aloud. I had to go back several times because I couldn’t figure out emotions behind what they were saying. Frustrating!
The book itself was cute, but the communication between every single character in this entire book was absurd and made it more annoying on top of it all.
I would try this author again, but absolutely not this type of narration.

I enjoyed the cute little story, but couldn’t get past the computer voice. It just loses something. There’s 0 personality when you don’t use humans to read.

virtual voice ruined this
There is ZERO differentiation between characters. That makes for a weird synthetic fake book.
The story begins great but by the last third the story is lost to sex.

Virtual voice
The story was enjoyable but the virtual voice narration needs a lot of improvement. The flat tone and lack of individuality of the different voices was distracting and disappointing. There was no way to tell even whether the speaker was mail or female.

Story was so cute I didn’t mind the computerized voice
I was glad they notified us before it started that the narrator was a computerized voice. It definitely lower the expectation. The computer surprisingly did a great job. The story was adorable and it was easy to get caught up and what was happening and ignore the computer voice.I noticed that every once in a while, but overall, still worth listening to!

Virtual voice is terrible!!
Virtual voice gives no character emotion, makes it difficult to identify transition between characters dialogue and hard to distinguish between, thoughts, dialogue and narration. Annoyed me throughout the whole story
