HORRIBLE narration!!

The narration was so horrible that I began to wonder if it had been done by AI rather than by an actual human. So I went back to the Audible listing, and sure enough:

"This title uses virtual voice narration Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks."

The narration was badly stilted, and the emphasis was frequently placed on the wrong word in a sentence.

I will attempt to return the book: it is UNLISTENABLE!

No more AI please!

It was really hard to get into the story because of the AI narration. It doesn’t matter how good the written word is if the spoken word has no emotion. The cadence was off, which made it sound really choppy and hard to distinguish between the characters. I think the story Itself was good, but maybe I would’ve thought it was better if a person had narrated it and put more feeling into the characters. Sounds like they set it up for a sequel, but if it it’s not narrated by a real person, I’ll pass.
