After finding her mother dead, Vera is separated from her baby brother and carelessly placed in the care of her mom’s killer, Skip. There, her life quickly becomes miserable alongside multiple other women and children. She wants nothing more than to find her brother and run far away with him. Unfortunately, Skip isn’t willing to let her go so easy. He is more interested in using her for his own needs versus letting her be free. In attempts of escaping this lifestyle, Vera and a friend, Essence venture out in search of an escape. They find it in a man by the name of Bishop. Bishop quickly provides them with the life they both are so desperately in search of. He is able to provide them with the type of security and luxury they dreamed of their entire lives. Almost instantly, they went from the bottom to the top. Overtime, they realize Bishop has a dark side and posed a bigger threat than Skip. He lives a life engulfed with drugs, murder and indefinite dangers. Once Vera’s relationship with Bishop turns intimate, things quickly start to change. Without warning, her life begins to spiral out of control. Vera finds herself entangled in the deadly webs of not just one, but two of the most notorious mafia families and the only obvious way out is death.
