About this listen
We had it all: I made sure of it.
Money was no object, and we could fulfil every irrational financial whim we had without a moment’s hesitation. Our typically lavish holiday to Tenerife was indicative of that. Yet, instead of savouring every second I had there and focusing on what was truly important, I still found something to whine about.
After the horrific events that my wife Charlotte and I endured, we had a family of our own. I freely admit that I took them for granted and should have cherished every fleeting moment I had with them, but hindsight is a beautifully cruel thing.
Why the hell did I have to get behind the wheel of that death trap?
The crash changed me.
It was as if a reset button had been hit, and suddenly, my mind was thrown fifteen years into the past. The memories of my cherished family were obliterated and callously taken from me, and I couldn’t even remember their names.
And it wasn’t the only thing that was taken…
Whilst I was in a medically induced coma, a vile murderer and predator only known as “The Stag” was skulking in the shadows. When I was at my most vulnerable, he spitefully snatched my family without remorse and maliciously robbed me of what was most precious.
Even though I was hindered by my fractured mind that was releasing my past one agonising flash at a time, I frenziedly followed his trail to find my family and give them their freedom. I didn’t recognise myself anymore, and I was sure they wouldn’t either, but I was desperate to repair the damage I had done and become the husband and father that they always needed.
I just didn’t know if I would get the chance.
